The British Museum

 London - We woked up early to visit the most famous museum in the world - The British Museum.   

This exhibit was crowded with people because this was made from the thorn of Jesus Christ crucifx. 

The Rosetta Stone is a granodiorite stele inscribed with three versions of a decree issued in Memphis, Egypt in 196 BC during the Ptolemaic dynasty on behalf of King Ptolemy V Epiphanes. The top and middle texts are in Ancient Egyptian using hieroglyphic and Demotic scripts respectively, while the bottom is in Ancient Greek. The Rosetta Stone is the key to deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs.

We went out of the museum to have lunch at a nearby Italian restaurant

Changing of the Guards - Trafalgar Square - Chinatown - Science Museum

London - Very early in the morning we went to watch the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace.  The whole place is so crowded with tourist. 

Walking around Trafalgar square, you will find the Admiral Nelson being honoured here - Nelson Column which was built to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson, who died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

We had our lunch here and it was good - comfort food.  There are many chinese restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, and souvenir shops. 

Then to the Science Museum, 

Science Museum is one of London national museum and the entrance fee is free.   Many interesting exhibits - one floor for mathematics, medicine, aviation and information technology.

Tate Modern - Picadilly Circus - St James Church - Hyde Park Winter Wonderland

 London - Our first stop was Tate Modern London is a modern art gallery and is Britain's national gallery of international modern art and forms part of the Tate group. It is based in the former Bankside Power Station, in the Bankside area of the London Borough of Southwark.  

Such a unique building - symmetrical design that plays on your mind.  

A 13-metre (42ft) statue that draws on the legacies of Queen Victoria, the British empire and the transatlantic slave trade could help trigger a radical reassessment of public monuments in Britain, according to its curator.

After the Tate museum, we walked along the banks and cross the Millenium Bridge

The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, popularly but incorrectly known as "Eros", is a fountain surmounted by a winged statue of Anteros, located at the southeastern side of Piccadilly Circus in London, 

We cross to Hyde park for the winter wonderland - it was so crowded.   

It was a long day and a train ride back to our hotel..

Greenwich Town - National Maritime Museum -

Greenwich - We spent the whole day at Greenwich town which is famous for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and is the time measured on the Earth's zero degree line of longitude, or meridian. This runs from the North Pole to the South Pole, passing through the Old Royal Observatory in the London suburb of Greenwich.

Temperature is around 5 degrees celcius.   

Spent about an hour at National Maritime Museum - it was free entrance - about naval battles and maritime exploration.   

Of particular interest was Admiral Lord Nelson battle coat with the bullet hole.  Nelson was the brilliant admiral that defeated the French and Spanish ships at the Battle of Trafalgar.
