Phnom Penh - I went to one of Phomn Penh famous Cambodian restaurant with Lesley and Air called Romdeng. This restaurant is located @ #74, St 174 and ran by former street youth in training. This restaurant is actually a training school for Cambodian street youth and managed by
Mith Samianh.
Set in a beautiful colonial building, Romdeng serves a great variety of Cambodian food ranging from almost forgotten recipes from the provinces to contemporary creative Cambodian cuisine. The wooden carvings, tables, chairs and unique lights were all hand made in Cambodia. Smith Samiah sewing vocation training students made all the silk goods and cushions at the restaurants. Decorating the walls of Romdeng are beautiful paintings produced by the children and youth from art classes at the Training Center.
