Day 4 in Prague: Bohemian Paradise Geo-Park - UNESCO World Heritage site

Prague - We woke up at 7AM to have an early breakfast as our tour will pick us up at 8:05AM outside our hotel.   It was a hearty breakfast and we are ready for the Bohemian Paradise.  Pax was feeling under the weather and was struggling through the tour.

It took around 2hrs to reach the Bohemian Paradise location with a short coffee break at a Petrol station.

The Bohemian Paradise Geo-Park is a breathtaking testament to the natural beauty and geological wonders of Central Europe. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this enchanting region offers a unique blend of dramatic landscapes, rich history, and vibrant biodiversity that captivates visitors from around the world.

Bohemian Paradise is renowned for its stunning rock formations, created by millions of years of natural forces. The park features an array of sandstone pillars, rock towers, and labyrinths that rise majestically from the earth, offering spectacular views and endless opportunities for exploration.

It was a good hike up and down the trail.  The park features well-marked trails that cater to all levels of fitness and experience, guiding visitors through its most scenic and significant areas.   The hiking trail is colour-code for experience and casual hikers.

We also plucked and ate the blackberries and it was sweet but small.  Our guide told us that the wild blackberries are small as they are organic (no GMO to make it bigger).

Bohemian Paradise is renowned for its stunning and diverse geological formations. The region is characterized by dramatic sandstone pillars, rock towers, and labyrinths that have been shaped by millions of years of natural processes.

Hruba Skala Castle

The highlight of this part of Bohemian Paradise is Hrubá Skála Castle, situated on top of a sandstone rock. Nowadays, the chateau houses a hotel, hostel and a restaurant.

The Renaissance chateau was built on sandstone at the point where a medieval castle built in the 14th century used to be.

At present, the chateau is used as a hotel. Tourists can access the courtyard and the tower from which they can enjoy a wonderful view of the Hruboskalsko, Trosky and Kozákov.

Restaurant Skala & KLÁŠTER brewery

There was no brewery tour today because it was a Czech holiday.  We had beer in this restaurant and it tasted really good.

We reached back our hotel @ 5pm.  Our day ends with a Poke Bowl dinner eat-in with Bolt-food and it tasted delicious.

Salmon Poke Bowl

In the Hawaiian language, "poke" means to cut something, and that's precisely what it's all about. Poke bowls are a delicious blend of marinated, typically uncooked seafood, paired with various veggies and drizzled with savory umami or soybean paste-based sauces.

Calesa around Intramuros

Manila - Together with Albert, we took a calesa (horse drawn carriage used in Philippines) around Intramuros. Albert and Lesley Albert and I Intramuros is the oldest district and historic core of Manila.  The walled part of Manila was called intramuros, which is Latin for "within the walls"; districts beyond the walls are known as extramuros meaning outside the walls.  Construction of the defensive walls was started by the Spaniards in the late 16th century to protect the city from foreign invasions.   Guarding the old city is Fortaiago wich is located at the mouth of the river. Cheong Guk Jang - fermented bean soup

Seoul - Lunch with Youngjin was at a traditional soup restaurant and it was crowded.   Youngjin asked me many times Cheonggukjang "ok", I said ok not knowing what to expect.  I have tried many weird and smelly good in Seoul, so I was very prepared.   My first time tasting Cheonggukjang and I like it. CheongGukJang 청국장 is fermented soybean soup aka Stinky soup.  Actually, I like fermented food and the smell does not put me off.   I like fermented food because of the many health benefits and also we have them here in Singapore - tempe, belachan, fermented bean curd (which I love with my porridge), chincaluk, etc.. very hot Cheonggukjang  I always buy danjang paste and bring home to make soup.  I understand that they are the same but the difference is Cheonggukjang beans are uncrushed and are fermented for a longer period of time.
