Singapore - I met Edmund at the Botanical Gardens MRT at 7pm and we took a leisurely evening stroll through one of Singapore’s most iconic green spaces — the Singapore Botanic Gardens. But this wasn’t just an ordinary walk under the stars. The Gardens were glowing, shimmering, and dazzling with light, as part of the ongoing “EnlighTEN” light show for the Heritage Festival.
Running nightly from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM until August 10th, “EnlighTEN” transforms familiar garden pathways into illuminated art galleries, with light installations and displays scattered across various locations — each with its own story to tell. The lights didn’t overpower the Gardens’ natural beauty; instead, they complemented it, enhancing the lush greenery and iconic features.
The soft hum of crickets was joined by the gentle glow of lanterns and creative light sculptures lining the paths. The Swan Lake area was an absolute highlight — colours reflected off the water created a kaleidoscope of colors, a beautiful and dreamlike scene.
The show began shortly and it was a beautiful display of lights.
What made the night truly special was the atmosphere — families with children marvelling at glowing pathways, couples taking quiet romantic strolls, and photography enthusiasts capturing the interplay of light and shadow. It felt like the Gardens had been given a second life after sunset, one filled with wonder and community spirit.
