Bangkok - I am so lucky to have come to Bangkok during Loy Krathong. A Thai channel partner told me I came at the right time with a major festival in Bangkok - I had no idea.
Loy Krathong, also named Festival of Lights, is a famous floating lantern festival in Thailand. On the evening of Loy Krathong, Thai people gather together to release floating rafts called Krathongs onto rivers, lakes, and canals to give thanks to the Goodness of Water and seek forgiveness from her. The official date of Loy Krathong is announced the year before. So, when exactly the festival will take place in future years, will happen on the night of the full moon.
From our hotel it took us about 1hr to reach Saphan Taksin BTS Station, there was a long queue at the pier for the free shuttle to Icon Siam.

It was so crowded at Icon Siam, but we managed to catch the water display and fireworks. It was a spectacular display of water and fireworks.
