Lepau retaurant

Kuching -  Edmund brought me to this Sarawak unique cuisine and the food is inexpensive and delicious. One of the higher rated restaurants in Kuching.  Rated 4.5 on google.

It is always crowded daily and we had to take a queue, finally a table opened for 2.v. The menu has unique dishes.

Midin with Belacan and garlic

Midin is Sarawak favourite vegetable and this wild fern appears to be resistant to pests and disease. That is why you can see it grow with wild abandon even at the roadside without any proper care.

Stir fried and it was a delicious dish - the stem is tender together with the Belacan made an excellent dish.

Durian with Petai

It was very delicious and unique dish - fermenting the durian and adding petai makes it one of a kind.  Both Durian and Petai smells or stinks but this dish is yummy.   After dinner, my tummy was bloated due to the fermented dishes.

Smoked fish soup

This soup had Terung dayak (hairy-fruited eggplant, a wild fruit native to Sarawak) is cut into crescents and slow-cooked together with ikan salai (a delicious smoked fish found only in Sri Aman, a sleepy town about 180km away from Kuching), ginger and lemongrass.
