Kuching - We woke up at 7am and get ready to catch a grab of approximately 24km from Kuching to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is a well-known orangutan rehabilitation centre with a primary focus of the rehabilitation and preservation of orangutans, one of the most iconic and endangered species of primates in the world.

The wildlife centre is open in the morning from 8-10am and 2-4pm. We were fortunately to be able to catch Orangutans coming down from their habitats to have a meal of bananas, sugar cane and coconut. The orangutans are smart enough to understand that once the wildlife wardens give the coconut it is the end of the their feeding time.

Only a mother orangutan with a baby hanging onto her and another of her offspring. The warden mentioned that if there are abundance of fruits in the jungle, the orangutan might not appear during feeding time.
We were informed also that another Orangutan appear and is having his meal further down the road - so everyone make their way down to see this huge Orangutan.
It was a delightful day, light drizzle but on a whole well spent time to see one of nature's beautiful creatures.
